Indigenous Student Legal Internship Program

This program provides you access to a virtual classroom and on the job training where you will learn how to leverage your problem-solving and communications skills to help make critical business decisions. You will be assigned a manager and mentor to help support your learnings from the classroom to apply in the working setting.
The summer program begins with a week-long Intern Orientation for you to engage with fellow Interns and learn about the resources and programs available to you. We offer company-wide departmental overviews for you to explore more about what we do at CPP Investments and give you the opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership across the firm. You will quickly advance your knowledge and expertise through skills-based training and stimulating on-the-job assignments. You will participate in additional summer programming such as our Intern Case Competition and our Speaker Series where each session focuses on a different aspect of our culture including Employee Resource Groups, Inclusion & Diversity and much more. You will join us as an Intern Analyst for the Summer of 2025 in the Legal Department. Candidates in an undergraduate or graduate program in law that will be returning to school in Fall 2025 are eligible to apply.
Students wishing to apply must be Indigenous/Aboriginal Peoples of Canada (Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Inuit or Métis) and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in law, graduating in December 2025 (or later).
Preference for students in their 2nd year (i.e., 2L), but all applications will be considered.
Interest in Capital Markets & Investment Management, Governance, Compliance or Risk
Good written and verbal communication skills, including strong legal research and writing skills, and an interest in working in a dynamic collaborative environment.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
